Crooked by design, straight in recoil.
Designed for the demands of extreme long-range shooting, the Dog’s Hind Leg Picatinny Bipod Rail extends forward from the stock and runs parallel to the barrel, creating a longer and more stable support platform.
Manufactured specifically to suit McMillan A5 stocks, the Dog’s Hind Leg can also be adapted to other flat-bottom stocks and chassis systems using the included spacer plates.
Improved recoil control
The Dog’s Hind Leg changes the rifle’s support geometry by moving the bipod further forward of the rifle’s balance point while also positioning the support point closer to the bore axis.
This reduces the offset between the recoil line and the bipod support point, helping minimise the pitching movement that contributes to muzzle jump.
By placing the bipod further forward, more of the rifle’s mass sits behind the fulcrum point. This helps the rifle recoil in a straighter, more controlled manner, improving stability, tracking and shooter comfort under heavy recoil.
Rigid, lightweight construction
The rail uses an I-beam-inspired design to increase stiffness and resist deflection under the weight and recoil forces of large ELR rifle systems, while keeping weight to a dainty 270 grams.
